RISE OF THE GUARDIANS Movie Review

Director Peter Ramsay introduced the film prior to the projection, saying this project was an “absolute labor of love” and his goal in making the animated adventure was to warm hearts and transcend you to that childhood imagination you so often try to rediscover.  It did just that.

The film's stunning 3D visuals and elements of magic will evoke a sense of imagination and wonder in young children that will last a lifetime.  RISE OF THE GUARDIANS follows an Avenger’s-like team consisting of Santa Claus (Alec Baldwin), The Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), The Tooth Fairy(Isla Fisher), Sandman, and Jack Frost (Chris Pine).  These “Guardians” are forced to team up when “Pitch Black” (Jude Law) begins his plan to engulf the world in darkness. To make Pitch even more diabolical and epic-ly scary, he happens to be accompanied by dark steeds extremely similar to the Death Eaters in Harry Potter. The Guardians must defeat Pitch in order to protect the children across the planet. Watch trailer.

Despite some flat moments here and there, it’s stunning 3D visuals, fast paced tempo, and elements of magic will be sure to captivate audiences.  RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is a very magical and an immersive picture harnessing some very important themes easy enough for your children to digest.

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS lights up the big screen November 21, 2012.
