Mark Wahlberg showed his range last year with Seth MacFarlane’s comedy Ted, but he continues his winning streak as an action hero co-starring with another formidable action man – Denzel Washington in 2 GUNS as well as buddying up with Dwayne Johnson for Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain. He then segue ways into a reboot of the Transformers movie. He’s on fire. The premise of 2 GUNS is a bit complicated. Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg play undercover federal agents, but neither knows it until they bust each other. When they find out about each other’s assignment, they are forced to become partners after their agencies turn against them. Not only is the DEA and U.S. Naval agencies after them, so is the drug cartel led by Edward James Olmos and Bill Baxton. Are you following?
From the looks of the new preview and the one-sheet, 2 GUNS should not disappoint in the action department, and with these two likeable stars – the box office will be ablaze when it opens August 2, 2013.
