VAMPIRE ACADEMY Star Obsessed with Playing Tolkien Elf (Interview)

Australian actress Lucy Fry has played a mermaid, an alien surf girl and now a vampire princess in VAMPIRE ACADEMY but her dream fantasy role would be to play a Tolkein Elf.

Known for her roles in the Australian television series "Lightning Point" and "Mako Mermaids," Lucy Fry makes her Hollywood debut  playing yet another fantastical character as a teen vampire. She obviously gravitates to those types of  characters of which can be attributed to her love of the J.R.R. Tolkien novels The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

Since she was young, she always dreamed of being an Elf from Middle Earth. While that fantasy could never happen in real-life, she would settle playing one on the big screen. Too bad for her Liv Tyler ("Arwen") and Evangeline Lilly ("Tauriel") have already filled those elf shoes in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie adaptations, but there is still a chance for the Australian actress.

"One day I want to be Luthien in The Silmarillion. A book written by Tolkien when he died. His son finished it. That has yet to be made and I'm going to make it happen some day."

Tolkien's son Christopher has since completed the compilations of stories and luckily for Fry, a female elf appears in the Tolkiens legendarium. Luthien is a Telerin Princess born to Elu Thingol, king of Doriath, and queen Melian the Maia.   "The Simarillion" movie adaptation has of course been rumored online to be in the works. The collections of stories are a prequel to The Hobbit. Now that Peter Jackson is wrapping up The Hobbit trilogy with the final film being released in December of 2014, there may be a possibility.

And Lucy Fry will make sure to lobby for the role. "Maybe I"ll produce it."

VAMPIRE ACADEMY is playing in movie theaters.
