BURBANK, CA, August 6, 2009 – Principal photography is under way on Dark Castle Entertainment's action adventure "The Losers."  The film is based on the comic book series published under DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, and is being directed by Sylvain White ("Stomp the Yard").
"The Losers" features an ensemble cast that includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("The Watchmen"), Zoë Saldana ("Star Trek"), Chris Evans ("Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver The Losers Comic Book Is Now A MovieSurfer"), Idris Elba ("Obsessed," "RocknRolla"), Columbus Short ("Stomp the Yard," upcoming "Whiteout"), Holt McCallany ("Vantage Point"), Óscar Jaenada ("Che: Part Two") and Jason Patric ("In the Valley of Elah").

An explosive tale of double cross and revenge, "The Losers" centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission.  The team—Clay (Morgan), Jensen (Evans), Roque (Elba), Pooch (Short) and Cougar (Jaenada)—find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max (Patric).  Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by the mysterious Aisha (Saldana), a beautiful operative with her own agenda.  Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war.

Sylvain White directs "The Losers" from a screenplay by Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") and James Vanderbilt ("Zodiac"), based upon comic books written by Andy Diggle and illustrated by Jock.  The film is being produced by Joel Silver ("Orphan," the "Matrix" trilogy) and Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman ("A Beautiful Mind," "I Am Legend").

Astro Boy the Movie: Behind the Animation

ASTRO BOY BEHIND THE SCENES

Known as the Japanese Mickey Mouse, the boy wonder robot known as ASTRO BOY hits movie theaters October 2009 featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage, Freddy Highmore, Kristen Bell, Donald Sutherland, Bill Nighy, and Eugene Levy.

Created in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka, the godfather of anime, ASTRO BOY, began as a manga (Japanese comic)  and later became a television series in the 1960's and brought to the United States in the 1980's as an American television series.  The television series started the visuals associated with anime.

Now Imagi Studios brings a big screen version of the boy robot this fall.  Imagi Studios, based in the United States and Hong Kong, gave CineMovie a sneak peek at the story about a robot made in the likeness of a scientist's dead son.  We're with the line producer Pilar Flynn and character designer Luis Grane of Imagi Studios who explain their efforts to stay close to the original material.
