Netflix Expands Into Spanish-Language Market with Original Comedy Series

Netflix expands its reach internationally with a new Spanish language original comedy set to launch globally in 2015 on the leading Internet television network. “Club de Cuervos” is a Spanish-language original comedy series from the producing team (Alazraki Entertainment) behind behind one of the most popular and highest grossing Mexican films of all time, “We Are The Nobles.”
The 13 episode series will bring a family feud in the soccer world to life starring Luis Gerardo Méndez (“We Are The Nobles”, “Cantinflas”) in the leading role, Mariana Treviño ("Una Última y Nos Vamos”, “Amor de Mis Amores”), Stephanie Cayo (“La Hipocondríaca”), Daniel Giménez Cacho (“The Zone” “Tear My Heart Out” “Innocent Voices” “Bad Education”), Antonio de la Vega (“La Mentira”), Ianis Guerrero (“We Are The Nobles”), Jesús Zavala (“Malaventura”), Verónica Terán (“In the Time of the Butterflies”), Emilio Guerrero (“Pulling Strings” “Capadocia” “Under the Salt”), Eileen Yáñez (“Capadocia”), Carlos Bardem (“The Zone”), Oscar Olivares (“Capadocia”), Sofía Sisniega (“Gossip Girl: Acapulco”) and Sofía Niño de Rivera (stand-up comedian), among others.
“Club de Cuervos” has begun production in various locations in Mexico. Produced by Gaz Alazraki, Leo Zimbron and Mike Lam, the story was created by Mike Lam and will be directed by Gaz Alazraki for Netflix.
