Brett Ratner may be out as the show producer for the 2012 Academy Awards, but the TOWER HEIST director sticks to what he does best and that's talking about movies and giving us tips to movie-making.
Brett Ratner took Eddie Murphy's idea for a heist movie and transformed it into a vehicle for an all-star cast in TOWER HEIST with Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Michael Pena, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick and Casey Affleck.
While sitting down with Brett and Michael Pena in Miami, CineMovie's Zay Zay asked the Rush Hour and X-Men: Last Stand director what elements are needed for a good heist movie.
The TOWER HEIST director broke it down to the following elements:
1. Good Heist
2. Obstacles
3. Great Villain *Most Important
4. Real Stakes
5. Dramatic Heist Movies vs. Capers
Watch the video for more in-depth information regarding each element.
TOWER HEIST is currently playing in movie theatres.
