'Celebrity Apprentice" Premieres To Weak Ratings

At CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas, The Walt Disney Studios showcased its upcoming theatrical slate across major studios: Disney Live Action, Marvel Studios, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.
Disney executives Alan Bergman and Andrew Cripps introduced the event, emphasizing the power of theatrical storytelling. Jeff Bridges, Jared Leto, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Ke Huy Quan, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Jeremy Allen White and Jeremy Strong attended the panel.
• LILO & STITCH (May 23):
A live-action remake of the 2002 classic, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, starring Maia Kealoha and Zach Galifianakis. New clip and poster revealed.
Clip: Stitch is up to no good, causing Lilo and her mom trouble at her workplace - all while being adorable.
• FREAKIER FRIDAY (August 8):
Sequel to the hit comedy, with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis returning as Anna and Tess. Directed by Nisha Ganatra.
Scenes: Swapped mom and daughter run into Chad Michael Murray's Jake, and the two bungle flirting with the hunk. Then Jake seems to be interested in Tess (but it's really Anna). Now that's a problem.
• TRON: ARES (October 10):
Jared Leto and Jeff Bridges introduced the third TRON installment. Directed by Joachim Rønning, the third film in the franchise explores AI crossing into the real world.
Trailer: Visually, the iconic Tron lights crossing into the real world is spectacular and lethal. The heroes have their work cut out for them. Nine Inch Nails' score enhances the jaw-dropping effects.
• THE AMATEUR (April 11):
Espionage thriller from 20th Century Studios starring Rami Malek and Laurence Fishburne. Directed by James Hawes.
Clip: A short clip reveals how lethal Malek's character can be when he punishes a man in a glass pool.
• PREDATOR: BADLANDS (November 7):
Set in the future, this PREDATOR film stars Elle Fanning as a human ally to an exiled Predator. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg.
Trailer: Trachtenberg delivered a refreshing take on the PREDATOR franchise with PREY. The same can be said of this latest entry, a futuristic alien setting with a different Predator species. The Predator goes up against a monstrous foe.
• DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE (No release date):
Bruce Springsteen biopic starring Jeremy Allen White and Jeremy Strong. Directed by Scott Cooper.
Trailer: Springsteen suffers from daddy issues. White most captures the American icon when performing his classic song, "Born to Run."
• ELLA MCCAY (September 19):
Political comedy starring Emma Mackey and Jamie Lee Curtis, written/directed by James L. Brooks, who received the Cinema Vérité Award.
Ciips: The exclusive footage introduces us to Ella McCay, a politician balancing her complicated family life and becoming the next state governor.
• THE ROSES (August 29):
A dark comedy reimagining of THE WAR OF THE ROSES starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch. Directed by Jay Roach.
Trailer: A married couple (Colman and Cumberbatch) are at each other's throats after falling out of love.
•THUNDERBOLTS* (May 2)
Kevin Feige was missing from this year's CinemaCon due to the start of principal photography for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY. The Marvel executive sent a video message revealing the start of filmmaking
The studio did send their team of anti-heroes portrayed by Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Hannah John-Kamen although the team was MIA when introduced. The group came through the Coliseum front entrance, blaming Russell's gambling problem in a funny stunt. Pugh revealed she jumped off a tall building for the movie. The THUNDERBOLTS then introduced brand new footage.
Clip and trailer: The anti-Avengers ride together in a truck on their way to a mission. After funny exchanges, they crash into a building and fight the guards. Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine then informs them over the intercom that she was expecting them and the door was open. Now upstairs in what seems to be Tony Stark's prior penthouse, the group vows to destroy her until a powerful force intervenes, but we don't see the character. Next, a trailer features action sequences including Yelena (Pugh) diving off a skyscraper.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS (July 25)
No actors appeared for this Marvel entry. A new trailer reveals the first look at Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, who comes to warn of Earth's imminent destruction. Early in the trailer, Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) reveals a new addition to the family, but that's soon threatened with an alien threat.
• Pixar’s ELIO (June 20)
A cosmic coming-of-age story featuring a boy mistaken for Earth’s leader by aliens. Zoe Saldaña appears as Aunt Olga. Saldaña represented the movie at CinemaCon.
Two 3D clips were screened, and the world of Elio is out of this world for a boy dreaming of one day being abducted
• ZOOTOPIA 2 (November 26):
Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde return for an undercover case with new characters like Ke Huy Quan who came on stage to describe his character - a snake.
Clips: Judy and Nick go to couples therapy, and the therapist nails down their personalities. Another clip shows Judy and Nick in action.
• AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH (December 19):
James Cameron returns with the third AVATAR film, continuing Jake and Neytiri’s story. Zoe Saldaña returned to the stage to present a first look.
Clips: The Navi take to the skies with a new clan on pirate-looking airships. Another clan appears to threaten the Navi.

On Saturday, Marvel Studios' Hall H showcase brought together returning Avengers and new Avengers for the San Diego Comic Con convention. The biggest news out of the Con was the return of Robert Downey Jr. in a new role as Doctor Doom, and the Russo Brothers are back in the director's chair for the next two Avenger movies, AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and AVENGERS: SECRET WARS.
