Set in the summer of 1965 on an island off the coast of New England, two 12-year-olds fall madly in love with each other run away together into the wilderness. Bruce Willis' Captain Sharp and Edward Norton's Khaki Scout troop leader are tasked with finding the young couple before a violent storm makes its way to their island.
MOONRISE KINGDOM is the sixth colloboration between Bill Murray and Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Rushmore), while Jason Schwartzman makes his fourth appearance in an Anderson film.
MOONRISE KINGDOM opens May 25th in the Los Angeles area at The Landmark 12 in West Los Angeles and the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. The film expands into more movie theatres June 8th in Sherman Oaks and Irvine.
