Fright Night Stars & Director Pick Favorite Horror & Vampire Films

Colin Farrell counts the original Fright Night film starring Chris Sarandon as one of his all-time favorite horror movies.  He tells CineMovie Nightmare on Elm Street was a favorite as well as was other slasher films like Halloween and Friday the 13th as a kid in Ireland.  He admits the recent remake of Nightmare on Elm Street "missed the mark," and hopes fans don't think the same of FRIGHT NIGHT. (Listen to Colin's interview below.)

Anton Yelchin who plays Charlie Brewster in FRIGHT NIGHT has never seen the Twilight movies and hopes he never does.  He prefers anything that's not a melodrama especially in horror movies.  His first taste of vampires on the big screen was as a 10 year-old boy watching Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt's Interview with the Vampire.  While he has not seen the film as an adult, he still "fondly" remembers the vampire movie.  He most recently was exposed to a 1932 silent vampire film by Danish director Carl Dreyer titled Vampyr which he recommends.

Besides vampire movies, the Star Trek star gravitates towards all kinds of horror movies including campy and gore fests like Saw.  He's also a fan of campy 80s films His all-time favorite movie is Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk 'til Dawn.  (Listen to Anton's interview below.)

Director Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Girl) named The Shining starring Jack Nicholson.

The original star of Fright Night Chris Sarandon also had a recommendation for scariest vampire movie directed and starring Roman Polanski (Rosemary's Baby) and his future wife Sharon Tate in 1967.  Chris called Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killer "one of the scariest funniest movies ever made."

And the FRIGHT NIGHT stars and director hope to make this FRIGHT NIGHT part of the list for new generation of horror fans.
