CARRIE Movie Teaser Trailer Launches Viral Stalking

Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie

Called a "re-imagining," CARRIE is a 2.0 upgrade of the Stephen King best-selling novel, and the new teaser trailer definitely reinvents the destruction left behind by the bullied teenager. The marketing campaign also launched several official websites including a number to call Carrie, with a live person taking your calls.

Carrie-Movie-PosterStarring Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie White and Julianne Moore as the bible thumping mother, the teaser trailer pans across a city on fire while four different voice overs tell a bit of Carrie's story from different view points.  The preview ends with a blood-soaked Carrie. The trailer doesn't provide any new information we didn't know from the book or the 1976 movie, but seeing Moretz drenched in blood certainly provides the chill.  We can't wait to see Julianne Moore as the religious fanatic in the next version of the trailer.

For those new to the story, Carrie is a shy girl outcast by her high school friends and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore). The pressure and bullying leads to the 17-year-old unleashing her telekinetic terror on her small town during prom.

During the video, a phone number encourages you to call Carrie. When calling the 1-207-404-2604 number, a live person actually picks up the phone. At the end of the trailer, the official website WhatHappenedToCarrie.com pops up.  The viral campaign also has a second website at YouWillKnowHerName.com with clues to Carrie's mysterious powers.

Carrie is directed by Boys Don't Cry and Stop-Loss' Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
