New Trailer: Disney 'Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation' Arrives This Month on Disney+ & Hulu

Disney is gearing up to bring a magical twist to its streaming lineup: Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation will premiere exclusively on Disney+ (and Hulu in the U.S.) on October 29, 2025.

This anime adaptation is based on the wildly popular mobile game Disney Twisted-Wonderland, and its arrival marks another bold step in Disney’s push into the anime space.

When seemingly ordinary Tokyo high schooler Yūken Enma is mysteriously transported to the realm of Night Raven College, he’s thrust into a magical academy that’s far from ordinary. Unable to wield magic and unfamiliar with the world’s laws, Yūken must navigate this strange domain while trying to find a way home. Along the way, he finds himself entangled with classmates Ace, Deuce, and others — all under the looming threat of Riddle Rosehearts, the “Rose-Red Tyrant.”

The worldbuilding leans heavily on Disney lore: the school’s seven dormitories are each inspired by iconic villains. Think the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, Maleficent, the Evil Queen, and Hades. Their legacies inform the magical ethos and hierarchy of Night Raven College.

Disney has already greenlit three seasons for this adaptation, each aligning with the major narrative arcs of the game (and manga).

Season 1: Episode of Heartslabyul (based on the Queen of Hearts dorm)

Seasons 2 & 3 will follow Episode of Savanaclaw and Episode of Octavinelle arcs

The first season will consist of eight episodes, released weekly.

Because it’s exclusive to Disney+, fans around the world will be able to follow the series in sync (or near-sync, depending on region). (

Voice cast announcements have already begun—some original game voice actors are confirmed to reprise their roles.

A teaser trailer has already dropped, offering fans a first glimpse of the anime’s visual style and tone. The footage highlights Yūken’s arrival at Night Raven College and introduces key dorms and characters. The announcement generated significant buzz, especially given the large and passionate fanbase of the original game.

Why This Matters: Disney’s Anime Strategy & Fan Appeal

This isn’t Disney’s first foray into anime—*Star Wars: Visions* (and its upcoming Volume 3) is part of the push. ([Diario AS][12]) But *Twisted-Wonderland* stands out: it’s an adaptation of a beloved game (with built-in fans), it taps into the isekai / magic school genre, and it aligns with Disney’s strategy to diversify content offerings.

Fans of the mobile game already have emotional investment in characters, dorms, and lore. Translating that to anime opens doors for deeper storytelling, character development, and visual spectacle. At the same time, new viewers (particularly anime fans) get an accessible entrypoint into Disney-infused fantasy.

The trend of adapting games and cross-platform IP is strong in anime and streaming. With *Twisted-Wonderland*, Disney is tapping a formula that’s working: story + fandom + visual spectacle.

Step into a world of magic and mischief when “Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation” debuts October 29 exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
