Henry Cavill took a break from shooting the Superman reboot to promote his new film IMMORTALS and one look at the Man of Steel star in person, you can see why director Zack Snyder chose the IMMORTALS star to don the cape.
Henry Cavill and his IMMORTALS co-stars and director came together in Los Angeles to meet with press. Immediately once you see him in person, the striking resemblance to past Supermans is obvious. His dark wavy locks brushed to the side, the strong jawline, piercing blue eyes, his deep voice and his 6'1 stature exudes Superman. Asked if his hairstyle is his natural hair or remnants of his current role as the superhero, he reassured the room full of press that indeed it was his natural coif.

Cavill's casting as the new Man of Steel caused quite a stir as the Brit is the first non-American actor to play the beloved DC comic character. Even Jimmy Kimmel on his late night talk show criticized the decision in his monologue when news of his casting broke.
During our interview, Cavill addressed the criticism by saying that the superhero role is in fact not American, but from another planet.
"Superman is a universal image and what he stands for is very universal. He was raised in America but he himself is not an American because he comes from a place very far away and different."That should put all the critics to rest, but it's his performance that will convince everyone. To make sure he does justice to the role, he read all the source material until he was "blue in the face."
Audiences will be sure chime in on the new leading man when IMMORTALS opens in movie theaters November 4, 2011. Currently in production, the Man of Steel isn't scheduled to open until June 14, 2013.
