TOWER HEIST director Brett Ratner and star Michael Pena sit down with CineMovie's Zay Zay to hype up their new heist flick . The star and director dish on working with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, and why Brett was mad at Michael for ripping off a line from TOWER HEIST and using it in another movie.
Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand) and Michael Pena (30 Minutes or Less) visited Miami to promote TOWER HEIST, a movie conceived by Eddie Murphy. Zay Zay sat down with the talented duo and talked about the casting process and why Brett asked Michael to change up the character's personality the first day of shooting which shocked the 30 Minutes or Less actor.
Ratner also brings up the fact that Michael's character was going to be referred to as the "Satanic Hispanic" in the movie, but Michael dropped the line in the Jesse Eisenberg comedy 30 Minutes or Less in which he played a gangster. Instead they settled with the "Puerto Rican Mohican."
During the interview, Michael Pena talked about his fear of heights when he was asked to lean over the ledge of a skyscraper. According to Ratner, Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller couldn't wait for the scene where they are suspended high above the air in a car was over.
TOWER HEIST will be released in movie theaters November 4, 2011.
