ARRIVAL landed 8 Academy Award nominations Tuesday morning for Best Director, Best Feature, Best Adapted Screenplay and other behind the scenes crew, but the lead actress Amy Adams was snubbed in the Best Actress category. We agree with director Denis Villeneuve that Amy Adams was the core of the film and deserved to be honored in the category. JUSTICE LEAGUE is in production in London, and the publicity machine has started churning out teases with an early reveal of the synopsis in addition to an image of an upgraded Batmobile and the first logo from the film. Pimping out the Batmobile is nothing new for the franchise, but the fact that Warner Bros. released the synopsis already says a lot about the studio's approach this time around. JUSTICE LEAGUE's description doesn't mention Superman in the mix of superheroes, but of course they have to hold up the pretense that Superman is dead as we last saw him in the finale of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE star, watched an entire scene from the movie with Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One at this year's San Diego Comic Con in Hall H with fans, and he was clearly moved by the clip which he says he hadn't watched. BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE R-rated extended edition is coming to Blu-ray/DVD July 19 while the Digital HD arrives earlier on June 28th. Thursday a new trailer arrived with lot of new faces not seen in the theatrical cut including Jena Malone’s character who is rumored to be playing Bat Girl. Zack Snyder says an additional 30 minutes of new footage will be included in the extended edition including more intense footage from the ultimate fight scene between Batman and Superman. How many new scenes can you spot in the new trailer?

TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST NIGHT begins production once again under Michael Bay, and the director revealed the new look for Megatron's return. We can't help but notice the similarity to another space creature - Predator with arthropod-like mandibles added to the face although only two versus four.

The star and co-writer of the original GHOSTBUSTERS movie, Dan Aykroyd proclaimed on his Facebook page that the new GHOSTBUSTERS movie starring Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Chris Hemsworth is "funnier and scarier" than the originals. However, the fans are not being supportive and spewing nasty comments on his social media page. All the haters seem to be men. Typical! Dan has always been vocal about Hollywood so he's not the type of person to sell out and say something that's not true.

Tom Hardy reunites with Christopher Nolan for DUNKIRK which began principal photography Monday in Dunkirk, France. The film also stars another Nolan favorite Cillian Murphy as well as Kenneth Branagh, James D’Arcy and One Direction’s Harry Styles is making his feature film debut.

The saga of the FAST & FURIOUS crew continues with movie number 8, and the production is breaking new ground as they are the first big budget film to shoot in Cuba since the embargo was partially lifted. Directed by STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON’s F. Gary Gray, Universal Pictures shared a video with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez shooting on the streets of Havana for FAST & FURIOUS 8.

Principal photography began April 29 on 3Pas Studios and Pantelion Films new comedy, HOW TO BE A LATIN LOVER. The film stars famed Mexican comedian, writer, actor and director, Eugenio Derbez, (“Instructions Not Included,” “Miracles from Heaven”) alongside an ensemble cast that includes Rob Lowe (“The Grinder,” “Parks and Recreation”), Kristen Bell (“House of Lies,” “The Boss”) and Raquel Welch (“Legally Blonde,” “House of Versace”). The film, slated for theatrical release in 2017, is directed by Ken Marino (“Children’s Hospital,” “Burning Love”).

The only way to watch Black Hawk Down is on the big screen, and thanks to the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television now you can. The film school is paying tribute to legendary film producer Jerry Bruckheimer during a month long tribute to his films, and this Friday, April 15 the Ridley Scott film will be shown at UCLA’s Billy Wilder Theater in Los Angeles.
