While more movie theaters are opening across the United States and Canada, audiences aren't returning in droves. Disney and Marvel may be aware of this which is why they took the step to bring their upcoming films to Disney+ Premier Access. Marvel's BLACK WIDOW and Disney's CRUELLA will premiere theatrically and on Disney+ for an extra $30. In addition, the Scarlett Johansson movie was pushed back to July 9. A live-action Peter Pan movie, PETER PAN & WENDY is headed to Disney+ starring Jude Law as Captain Hook, Grown-is's Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell and Milla Jovovich's daughter Ever Anderson will play Wendy, and production is underway in Vancouver.

THE FLASH director Andy Muschietti has cast Latina actress Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as the cinematic Supergirl for the 2022 movie starring Ezra Miller. The Argentinian director surprised the actress with the news over a Zoom session, and she burst into tears. Calle's casting marks the first time a Latino actor will be playing a DC character in a DCEU movie. Watch the video.

On Thursday the The Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day event, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced Taika Waititi will indeed direct a new STAR WARS movie, and Patty Jenkins has joined the universe for ROGUE SQUADRON, a film focused on strarfighter pilots in-training. Waititi's STAR WARS film has no title or focus but Kennedy promised a "fresh" and "funny" approach.
