Lily James ("Downton Abbey") and Bella Heathcote call the ladies of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES "Spice Girls with swords" while Matt Smith (Dr. Who) describes the female zombie slayers as "sexy" in his book. The English and Spanish Mexican film didn't require The Hateful Eight actor to speak Spanish, and he's telling us what it was like working with Kristyan Ferrer who didn't speak much English. In THE FINEST HOURS, Chris Pine and Casey Affleck play real-life heroes who saved over 30 men during a blizzard in Cape Cod in 1952. As the heroes of THE FINEST HOURS, both actors are low-key in their performances, but the two actors say the real men were actually not the brooding kind nor hard-edged heroes like the modern day James Bond or superheroes we see today. Instead they took on a different approach and played the characters as old-fashion heroes in a film that's a throwback to a more innocent time.

Michael Bay says he didn't set out to make a “rah-rah” action film about these ex-military contractors, but he wanted to set the record straight at what really happened that fateful night on September 11, 2012 when four American’s died from an ambush by Islamic militants. He went to great lengths to bring accuracy to the action-drama by consulting with the brave survivors, the CIA and to stay truthful to the story told in the book, "13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi." Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays high-wire artist Philippe Petit in THE WALK, the Frenchman who crossed between the two World Trade Centers towers in 1974. The Robert Zemeckis film is very entertaining and a real nail-biter with an enjoyable performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but THE WALK failed to capture audiences in North America with a take of only $10 million. Gordon-Levitt talked to us about THE WALK not performing well at the box office, and what really counts when it comes to his movies.
THE WALK is now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download. It's worth checking out.

Actor Amaury Nolasco's character in Eva Longoria's "Telenovela" is based on his real-life struggles with being stereotyped in Hollywood. In the new NBC comedy premiering Monday, January 4, "Telenovela" goes behind the scenes of a soap opera in which he plays the villain, but on the show his "Rodrigo" character really wants to play the "nice guy" on screen. Nolasco (Prison Break, Street Kings, Max Payne) who often plays villains in films and televsion, tells CineMovie why he'd rather play the romantic leads to actresses like Rachel McAdams.
