PLANET OF THE HUMANS, the Michael Moore produced documentary has racked up over 8 million times on YouTube in the four weeks since its free release on YouTube. Given the success of TROLL'S WORLD TOUR direct to home release, Warner Bros. is following suit and going straight to Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) for their next animated film, SCOOB! in the U.S. and Canada. The film will be available in English and Spanish.

AMC Theaters announced they would not play any of Universal Pictures films when movie theaters open up this summer after Universal announced they would shorten the window between the theatrical window and the digital release after their straight to home release for TROLLS WORLD TOUR performed exceptionally well online. Disney and Lucasfilm announced on May the 4th day a new film is in the works with Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, JOJO RABBIT) directing and co-writing as well as a STAR WARS series with Emmy®-nominated writer Leslye Headland developing. Waititi has expressed interest in helming a STAR WARS film for a long time so the news doesn't come as much of a surprise, but now the lingering question is what character will be the focus of the new feature film. Warner Bros. has moved around some of their movie release dates due to the coronavirus lockdown including a bunch of DC Movies. THE BATMAN starring Robert Pattinson ceased production amid the nationwide shutdown of business as usual as well as delayed the start of production of other films in their slate including "The Sopranos" prequel movie. Depending on when production can resume, Warner Bros. may change the dates again, but here is what they are planning for their upcoming slate.

Watch parties have become popular during the coronavirus lockdown and Lionsgate is joining the fun with its own interactive tune-in every Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis hosting to benefit furloughed movie theater employees. One of Lionsgate popular titles, THE HUNGER GAMES, DIRTY DANCING, LA LA LAND and JOHN WICK, will air every Friday starting April 17 for four weeks. The communal experience includes real-time fan chats, movie trivia and challenges.

The Walt Disney Studios released new dates for just some of their films but not all. MULAN, Marvel's BLACK WIDOW, FREE GUY (starring Ryan Reynolds) were pushed to later this year and others like JUNGLE BOOK to 2021. Pixar's SOUL will remain on its original date of June 19. The new Marvel slate is also out beyond 2021. ARTEMIS FOWL will now premiere exclusively on Disney+ but no timeframe was announced. Two new movie titles join the Digital release library this weekend. Disney Studios announced its 20th Century Studios films, THE CALL OF THE WILD and DOWNHILL are arriving early on Digital Friday, March 27 because of the movie theater closures amid the coronavirus lockdown.

WONDER WOMAN 1984 diretor Patty Jenkins tooks to Twitter Tuesday to announce the sequel to WONDER WOMAN will not stream but move to August 14 for a theatrical run. Originally slated for June 5, Warner Bros. and the filmmakers are not taking any chances with the coronavirus crisis which many have predicted will play out until the summer.

As medical experts urge the public to social distant themselves from others during the coronavirus pandemic, movie studios are taking precautions as well canceling new movie releases for March and April. Disney announced Thursday MULAN, ANTLERS and THE NEW MUTANTS will not be released as scheduled while Sony took action sooner than that moving the next James Bond film, NO TIME TO DIE to November. Other titles were also canceled, some with new release dates and others with no new date. Check the list below.

THE BATMAN director Matt Reeves revealed the first look at Robert Pattinson's Batmobile via Twitter Wednesday morning. Pattinson's ride as Batman is reminscent of the 1966 TV show Batmobile (photo below) with winged spoilers in the rear and muscle car feel. We're digging the new look.

James Gunn took to social media to announce the cast line-up for SUICIDE SQUAD. Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney are returning as previously reported. New to the cast are Peter Capaldi of "Doctor Who" fame, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY alum Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn, Storm Reid and others. There are a few Latino names in the mix which is always good news as it should be with such a large cast.

During Saturday's Disney D23 Expo panel, Kevin Feige screened a first look at Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow spin-off. The director nor the cast appeared at the event but they did appear in a pre-recorded message on the set. Instead Feige gave the audience the first look with four clips.
